Editorial standards

Global Athlete Journal aims to make its writing clear, careful and independent. We explain what a piece covers, take care with claims, and give readers a way to flag an error.

Accuracy and context

We review wording, names and factual claims before publication, and aim to give context rather than present a sweeping claim as universal. Where customs, conditions or practices differ between places, we say so. A reader's correction is considered on its merits; if a change is warranted, we amend the relevant text and make the correction clear.

Independence

Editorial decisions and article conclusions are not for sale. A partner does not receive control over independent coverage, and a commercial relationship does not make a claim true. We consider whether a proposed subject belongs with the Journal and whether a reader can recognise the nature of the material.

Partner material

Paid or partner-supported material is identified plainly as such, including relevant partner links or placements. It is kept distinct from independent editorial coverage so readers can tell what kind of material they are seeing.

Illustrations

Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. Where that is the case, the illustration is identified so it is not mistaken for a documentary photograph or a record of a real event.
